Happy New Year!
I’m a little late for my Happy New Year post. Five days late. It’s the 5th of January. Anyway,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I made a decision yesterday! It hurt a little bit.
I have not been using this site much, and it is high time I did. So my decision was to post to this blog everyday, first thing in the morning. It will be some type of motivational, positive thought, slogan, or saying.
Just in case someone else reads my posts, I hope they will help you too.
I’ve found that to dwelling on the negative, never helps! It does NOT correct it, solve it, or help anyone, including myself. So, why do it. Instead, dwell on the positive. Not that every negative HAS a positive, but STOP thinking about negative things, and instead, think about positive things.
I remember a story I hear or read a few years ago, that changed my thinking about having a positive thinking. It goes like this…
Imagine being strained on a deserted island, with one other person. You get a severe appendicitis! A deadly situation. YOU ARE DEAD, without an operation. You are in luck though, you have a fully stocked medical first aid kit, that has every thing you need, including a manual that tells exactly what to do.
Now there is another person there to help you, and to do the surgery. Tell me, which situation would you rather have. That person says:
- I can’t do this. I’m sorry, you are going to die!
- I can do this! Look, I know I’m not a doctor, and I’ve NEVER done anything like this before, but, we have everything we need, you won’t feel a thing. I also have a manual that shows me what I need to do. We can do this!
Number two, of coarse!
Now, having a “positive” attitude, did not and does not, in itself, change the situation one bit. What it does do is “open up” the world of possibilities! I can, instead of “I can’t”.
So, think more about, and tell yourself, the “I Can” instead of “I Can’t”.
That’s it for today. Have a GREAT 5th of January.
